Since 1974 Mentor UMC has been providing youth and adults the opportunity to do God's work and word to others.
What began as Appalachia Service Project has grown and morphed into the Youth Service Project.
2018 will see 40 youth and adults travel to Johns Island, SC to work with Rural Mission in the low-country of South Carolina. In the words of Rev Glen "Tex" Evans, founder of Appalachia Service Project, Helping one family at a time. Accepting them as they are - where they are.
Support from the MUMC congregation and community is vital for the YSP team.
