To Beckley, WV !!

Everyone arrived safe, Bill is Bill - always a little behind the rest of the caravan

Nice tour through the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine & Mountain Homestead.Many Thanks to our tour guide Marvin - a font of knowledge having worked 45 years in the mines. The mine operated from 1890 until 1910, Miners earned $0.20 per Ton of coal hand dug ( in today's dollars that's $5.51 per ton) averaging 1 Ton every 45 minutes in the mine!

Jim & Bruce had a great dinner of fried chicken, macaroni & potatoe salad, chips & Koolaid. Eating in the amphitheater. Everybody enjoyed themselves.







Overnighting at First UMC in Hillsville, VA.

On to the National Whitewater Center tomorrow for the high ropes course and some whitewater rafting!
